Frame difference between 1984 1/2, 3/4 and 1 tons?
We have an 1984 model 1/2 ton lwb 4x4 6.2 diesel. I was wondering if there is any difference in frame size, thickness, etc between 1/2, 3/4 and 1 tons. Could you make a true 3/4 ton out of a 1/2 by swapping in the different drivetrain or would you end up with a 1/2 ton frame with a 3/4 ton drivetrain? Also, what front axle did the 3/4 ton 4x4's use? An eight lug 10-bolt? Thanks!
