What would I need to shave the rear of my truck?
I have several plans in mind for my truck and this is one of them I have been considering. What would be required as far as body work in order to have the whole tailgate/tail lights/roll pan shaved to look like one piece.
5-8 I am talking about like the concept picture of your truck in your sig. With the exception of the lights in the tailgate. I am considering putting them in the roll pan. Would this be a good idea since the lights would be so low? this is my daily driver so I want people to be able to see the lights good. I know I would need *Tail light Fillers *kit to shave tail gate * steel roll pan Anything else? I am just running through some ideas in my head, so any comments or suggestions are welcome.

So if I can find a half ass competent body man, he should be able to figure it out? It doesn't seem like it would be too complicated.
I originally was just thinking about shaving the tailgate and molding in a roll pan, but this just seemed like a better option. and it would be better for shows. What kind of rear light setups would you recommend?

Do you think that would be a better idea than having them in the roll pan?
I am done with a couple of other projects on my truck so I am looking for a new one... I just got *Optima Red Top Battery *Red wire loom *Rewired My system ( I put the good Sh!t this time) *MSD Dist cap/ MSD 8.5 super conductor wires *Cut the Vertical Bars out of my stock Grille(Just need to support it better now) *Clear corners *Painted some interior pieces *A/F Guage *U/D Crank Pulley Probably some more small things, anyway just rambling about some of my progress, so everybody doesn't think I just talk about stuff and never get anything done... ![]()

Put a third brake light in the center of the gate and 2-4 led/s on the bottom. They are definately bright enough...
We have a few kinds (You know me...always pushing product!) 14" flush style, 22" flush, 5, 8, and 14" frenched....... My feeling is that getting the light as far away from the center as possible helps keep the lines clean...... Anyway, a good body man should be able to do the insert for the gate and all the rest......but compare the pricing with the labor of ading a plate, and of a new skin...I guarantee that I would rather buy a skin and work it into a new gate rather than do the fitting, welding, grinding, and all the body work to a fabbed insert! And, by the way, I will sell you the pan have waiting for 5-8........ ....he can wait for another......( don't worry 5-8, I have more then one in stock)Later, Custom1 ![]() |

Hey could you PM me on how much the pan, LED's, skin, and tail light fillers would be from you? I am in the process of looking around.

Looks good man... What kind of sheet metal do you use? What size sheets and how thick is it?
