Bad 86 on a budget

Ok I do not want a custom truck I want to keep it stock for the most part. I have done the following:

Clear parking lights (LMC)
Headlight conversion (LMC)
Custom wire looms/ clear distributor (Summit)
Silverado dash clock (junkyard)
Tinted rear window

What I want to do:
Lowering spindles front 2", the cheapest I found was $250
Chrome front ad rear bumpers (junk yard or cl)
Cut bed supports and install rear drop shackles
Dual exhaust (either true or one to two) with headers

My two questions are if anyone knows a cheaper source for the spindles and what exhaust would give me the best note?

Also I was told the front end light layout of the truck is unusual for 86 and yes it is an 86, any truth to that?

Thanks for the help

Jesse

Famous last words. You already have a start and plans for a very mild custom. I had no plans to take my blue truck anywhere near where it is now either. Good luck!

$229.95 for a pair of Western Chassis spindles at Sport Truck Direct.

There is some truth to it. Most '83-'87 trucks had the 4 headlights with the square parking lights behind the grille. Your truck appears to be a Scottsdale trim truck, many of which came with the grille you have. My '88 crew cab dually has the same grille as yours.

Re: Bad 86 on a budget

What kind of tone are you looking for as to the exhaust?
Just flat LOUD and cackling? Mellow? Deep?

I have long tubes, with true duals and the cheap summit glasspacks on my 85. Had the same on my '78 K5, too. Not too terribly loud unless you REALLY get on it. Quiet enough at idle to hear the motor run. Cheap too.

I would NOT recommend summit headers, but I bought them anyways. With headers, glasspacks, hardware, and the labor to bend and run the piping, i spent less than $220

i've found that silverado's came w/quad lights and not other trim levels.
