My 1980 C10 LWB Custom Deluxe

Well, I'm somewhat new here. I thought I would start out in classic seeing that I got myself a classic. Now I don't know much, my dad found it for me. On craigslist, some lady was getting rid of it, and was thinking of parting it out, and what not. So my dad called me, and gave me the number to the lady. I called her right away, Luckily no one had got to her first. They put a charger on it, and it took a little time, and start up after a bit. I soon found out it was a 1980 Chevy C10 LWB Custom Deluxe. So, I was thinking about putting in a 6.2 Diesel lowering the truck down. Putting stacks in the bed, keeping the rims that came with the truck, and fixing the body. Anyways here's some pictures.

Nice to see another classic owner. These are great reliable trucks and they are easy to work on. These trucks look good lowered. First I think a paint job is a must. Instead of a 6.2 diesel why not put a newer diesel in it? Like a cummins 4bt or 6bt. The 6.2 isn't a very powerful motor.

Re: My 1980 C10 LWB Custom Deluxe

it is a 1/2 ton truck, the 6.2 will have plenty of power for anything a 1/2 ton should be handling, and if geared right will get very good milage.

if you want to tow heavily with it, look for another truck, a 1/2 ton is not for you.

Not much for towing. I rather have a smoking diesel street/race truck. I was re-thinking of what I wanted under the hood, and I would like to have the 6.5 Duramax.

At the risk of getting seriously flamed, I'm gonna stick my head out there and say that 6.2 diesel and race truck should never be in the same idea. Duramax would be a much better choice. Or even a late model Cummins out of a dodge.

Nice truck , I've got an 80 as a daily driver myself . I'd second that Cummings swap too . Our family has had nothing but good luck with them.
