I went to the world of wheels show in omaha today which i must say rocked there was the texas bikini team and some hot arse rides o and i'm 16 and they had 16yr old models in thongs half undone model in front of cars i was excited anyways got a ? all he cars and trucks had there neons and huge stereos pounding all day but the cars weren't on i'm wondering how do they do this without the battery going dead. Someone told me they plug the cars into a socket. If this is true how do you get a hook up to dothat ? I'm gonna be in some shows and would like to know how thanks

yup like Phaeton said they run a 12v DC power supply. The output of the PS is hooked into the 12v system of the vehicle, supplying most of (or all if its big enough) the current for systems or other stuff. Whatever the power supply cant provide, the battery will pick up. Most all show/demo vehicles that I have seen are setup this way. Big power supplies are not cheap but thats how they can pound them all day. I've toyed with the idea of doing this with my car (and even purchased a 35 amp PS, since I usually play the system for long times at parties/get togethers. Just haven't put it in as of yet. Damn, any shows I've been to have no AC receptacles. If you're showing, do you have to pay extra if you want Ac power?? |
