I have found that you can't use the silicone blades with the rain-x. The new bosch blade(without the metal frame) works really well.

Re: rain x
it works great. i have used it on all my rides except this truck. right after i got the truck the windshield got hit by a rock and put a small star like crack in it, so i called my insurance co. and they said i could replace it for $100 ded. or have it repaired and they would pay for it so i said just repair it. well the guy comes out and i'm watching him do the repair and he ask if it had ever been rain x'd and i told him no and he said good because if it had of been the repair would not work. the adhesive would not be able to bond the glass due to the chemical in rain x(petroleum base) but other than that the stuff does work and i'll put some on sometime i'm sure. Re: rain x
I have always loved RainX, been using it for years.

I have the Bosch Icons and ya they do bounce a LITTLE bit on light rain...not bad though.

It works ok, doesn't last as long as I think it should. There are other products out there.

I've used a few of the other wanna be brands. In my experience, Rain X lasts the longest for sure. Several factors effect how long it lasts. Windshield wiper usage, driving in the rain and normal windshield cleaning will all wear away at the coating of Rain X. There's no Rain X subsitute out there that's permanent. If you want the convenience of if, you'll just have to resort to the fact that you'll have to throw on a little elbow grease now and then. Supplement the normal applications with the Rain X washer fluid and it'll last even longer.

Re: rain x
I've got a problem with my wipers. They keep hanging up, I was thinking maybe missing a tooth on a gear or a bad spot on the brushes or something like that. I can hear the motor running but they hang up and I have to pull over and pull them out of the hang up and they will work good for a while until they hang up again. I have to use rain x or else I can't see crap. Has anyone ever had this happen to them with their wipers? I guess the only fix would be a new wiper motor but just don't want to spend the bucks on one. Does anyone have an extra one?
