Re: rain x
I used to use Rain-X but it didn't last very long. So, I tried just waxing my windshield with the same Meguire's Hi-Tech Yellow Wax that I wax my vehicles with. Now I wax all my windows inside and out, mirrors, headlights, tail lights and chrome bumpers.

It lasts as long as a wax job does and works just like Rain-X. The windows don't fog as bad and my kids' fingerprints wipe right off. I rarely ever use my wipers anymore if I'm going over about 35mph.

It also helps to keep the windshield clean. If there are bugs on it the next rain washes them off.

I did my truck when I bought it in January and it just now is getting to where it doesn't run off quite as well.

Re: rain x
Make sure it's a wax, not a polish. I've never used polish before, I'm not sure if it would work.

Go back and read my method for applying it. I apply it several times a year to my cars and NEVER have a film left.
