Cool Clayed the truck Yesterday!
Man!!! What a difference it made! The paint looks brand new!!! Took all the overspray left over from the loser who did the last body work, all the dead bug carcases, pollen, bird dootie spots and everything else that mighta been attached to the truck without perfection. I used Clay Magic in case anyone's interested. Started at 10.30am with the usual bath, dried the truck, clayed it, waxed.... was done at about 4.00pm. (Yes, I took my time.) lol

But it was well worth it.... now to start cleaning the undercarriage Not looking forward to THAT!

Sorry - the only decent before pics are on this site. :) As for the after pics - I have yet to take them! I can't seem to find a place I'm happy with for pics..... so everyone who's going to Carlisle will have to vouch for how good my baby looks!!!

I've never clayed my truck. What all is involved and would I do it before or after Meguiar's Scratch X? Thanks:)

Thats alot of work Annie, I have done the clay magic, its tough at first but then it starts moving easier. The results are well worth it IMO, however like you said its an all day project to do it right.

It's real easy to do - the Clay Magic kit comes with Clay Lube (yes, that's the real name! ) which is very similar to the quick detailer spray and you just lightly rub the clay bar around on the paint and you can hear the difference from the "dirty" truck to the clean paint.

The clay removes everything from the surface, so you need to wax right afterward - so I would use the scratch remover after the clay.

I think Clay Magic is only avaible direct online.

BTW - my BF is a car nut, so he did 1/2 the truck and I did the other half... and it still took us all day making sure to get every inch of paint. Thanks honey!

According to Meguiars website, their Quik Clay Detailing system uses the Quik Detailer Spray for lube.
