Favorite Tire Shine
What is your favorite tire shine to use, i've used many many and have to go with Black Magic Tire Wet, only $3.50 a can a walmart, lasts longs, looks awesome and doesn't sling it on the paint.

Re: Favorite Tire Shine
For OTS shines I like the Black Magic shine, but my favorite by far is P&S Wipe N Shine. It leaves an incredibly wet and even look after just 1 application

Re: Favorite Tire Shine
I have Eagle One tire stuff, it works well, but it does sling off somewhat. I used to use it on my Civic, but i haven't tried it on the truck yet.

Re: Favorite Tire Shine
I found a new product called DuPont tire shine. It has Teflon and looks wet but dries with no residue.

I like black magic, but the spray kind. I tried the little spong but that thing is the worse i have ever used.

Teflon is a gimmick in car care products. It takes 600+ degrees for teflon to properly adhere to a surface.

I have been using Turtle Wax Tire Wax for years and I like it.

Re: Favorite Tire Shine
garden hose...

on a side note:

i applied some kinda shine crap on my tires. it got slung off. when i had it at the dealer for its physical, the service writer, (someone ive known and trusted for 15+ years, and who has never steered me wrong) said not to use silicon based tire shine products.

he said that it gets on hot rotors and 'glazes' them, and the pads. this reduces performance, adn can cause uneven wear and warpage. he then showed me my rotors, and they were 'glazed' in spots where the tire shine had hit them. i took some brake clean, and some fine grit sandpaper and roughed up the rotors a tad. brake performance improved significantly, and have remained good for the last 5000 miles of driving and towing.

anyone know for sure if this is a legitimate problem? or if he was just.. er.. mistaking? on a side note, he said NEVER spray it directly on the tires, spare it on a rag, and then rub it into the tires makign sure to clean off any excess.

you shouldnt be getting that much on the brakes to make that much of a difference. i just spray it on the tire, then wipe it with a special rag that i use only for applying tire shine to tires and the black plastic. never had a problem.

for you guys using original armor all, dont your tires turn brown? mine always did and i couldnt stand it

I do not recommend using silicone based products, but that's not because of the brakes...never heard that before.

Certain silicones can deteriorate the rubber over time.

Re: Favorite Tire Shine
I use a professional line dressing. Its called *Detailers Choice Solvent Based* It gives a high shine, It dries quickly and doesn't sling, and it lasts a few weeks.

Over the counter though i would say you can't beat Megs High endurence.
