how to canadaproof a truck 101
got truck Jan...todays the first chance lve had to CanadaProof it

1. find park
2. find space in shade with no kids about
3. Claybar..first time...piece of piss
4. maguires/step 1,2,3...wax on....wax off
5. prep fenders and doors for oncomeing winter
6. add bushwackers for layout...they call them bushwackers because thats what they do to you and your wallet
7. move to quieter spot with less kids
8. keep eye on questionable charecters lurking around at new spot...l growl and glare and they leave
9. remove tape carefully
10. look for screws for flares that you thought to put away so you WOULDNT missplace them
11. put bushwackers on for second time
12. getting dark and almost done which is good because lm thinking the park bathroom just up ahead is a pickup area for them funny type fellas which in turn would explain a few things
13. make note to self to find diffrent park next time
14. 8hrs later am done...bushwakers were done while ago...add 2 hrs if there not

all in all was a good day..trucks ready for whatever may come
preperation and planing :O)
just starting

one thing you wont hear me saying...a body panels rusting on my truck....
oh....and before ya'll jump on my dodge...it keeps me working which in turn keeps me in coin to keep my 2 gms running...one of which needs full interior and paint and other is now in need of a tranny it seems :O(

Re: how to canadaproof a truck 101
The only thing I really don't like about Dodge is the auto's they have. They just suck.

Anyway, my though on winter proofing a car, is

Put it in a climate contorled garage untill the snow and sand is gone.

Re: how to canadaproof a truck 101
have heard alota the autos in the 07 had issues and on that same note are alota folks with autos with no issues...belive some of the probs may be results of power add ons..programers ect...the automatic is spec,d for a certain amount of hp/tq and once your above those numbers your in no mans land...same as our trannys...know my 700r4 is rated for just under 600/hp..l go above and lm gona break it...lots of folks over at the cummins forum slaping boxs on left and right and getting some pretty scarey hp/no,s..stock the 6.7 is 610+ tq..dosnt take much to hit 7-800...what l cant understand is why..minute you slap a programer on there your gona void your warrentee...when you start looking at 5 k for a tranny ect you realy dont wana mess with warentee...in the end theres good and bad with all...big thing with the new diesles is the epa and emisions and theres still bugs to be worked out

as for posting a dodge on a chevy forum am just giveing ya'll a heads up on the compitition out there just so yer all on your toes...watch out for those 6.7 turbo diesles...some of them are downright nasty bad

Re: how to canadaproof a truck 101
Every vehicle I had that rusted bad rusted from the insid out. Cab corners, rockers, and even fenders (starts between where the inner and outer fenders join in the lip). I just bought a new 1500 and I plan on spraying Eastwoods anti-rust inside the rockers, cab corners, inbetween the inner and outer fenders, inside the bumpers, and all brake/fuel lines. I would suggest anyone who lives in the rust belt to do the same. I've seen trucks up here as new as 04's with areas starting to rust through.
