Re: microfiber drying towel
I've been using the 3M microfiber towels. Picked them up at an autobody supply store and they work great !

Re: microfiber drying towel
Got a big pack of 20 or so from sams for like 10 bucks. I leave them in the package and use 3-4 at a time for a few times until they loose the flufflyness and become rather hard, then I use new ones. Very important when you wash them to not use fabric softener.
Most scratches are done by drying, so be sure to use clean cloths.

Yes sir. That's what they're designed for. If you've been using it to do other stuff with (Todd's reference ) than I suggest you buy a new one. They're under $10 and will last FOREVER if you maitain them. NEVER completely dry it out. Wring the excess water out of it and put it back in the container.

used to use them alot when detailing a customers ride after doing a bit of work to it. It wasn't absolutely necessary but for some higher paying customers, i wanted to give them a good impression besides "enhancing" their ride (sometimes it was just cool to them, but everyone has different tastes)
It works better than the (SHAM!)-wow. I've used both back to back. Just donn't be disappointed at first use. because it works better when damp. Doesn't make sense but it's true.
Keep microfiber towels for cleaning and polishing. They are excellent for windows, just use a foaming glass cleaner (wurth stuff works excellently) and paper towels, then give em a good wipe with a dry microfibre towel. If you are thorough, you will have absolutely zero streaks (well to the naked eye)

haha that made me almost spit out my gatorade. but on a more serious note. those wont scratch my truck? because i used a towel today and it scratched it. wouldnt the absorber move the dirt/dust around on the truck so it would scratch it?

thanks for the tip. but like i said above, wont it scratch? it wont absorb the dirt/dust particles like a micro fiber would

Dude, you shouldn't be using ANYTHING to dry your truck if it still has dirt on it. A microfiber doesn't "absorb" dirt.

It's all good. The reason the towel scratched your truck is because of the sharp fibers in it. That is, unless you still had dirt on it, in which case ANYTHING will scratch it. Clean the truck thoroughly before you attempt to dry it.

Re: microfiber drying towel
Any fabric that touches your paint should be something like a cotton terry towel, microfibre or absorbent synthetic towels (chamois, absorber, sham-wow, etc.)
It's not hard to create swirl marks, not to say other stuff doesn't work, but it's better to invest in a good set of towels just because. I'm not a stickler for pretty paint. But if i can acheive a reasonable shine through elbow grease and some supplies, then i'll do it. I'm no perfectionist though

Re: microfiber drying towel
I use a leaf blower after im done washing it to get most of the water off, then I can dry the entire truck with only 1 or 3 microfiber cloths.
