Im betting this is because you are in FL and there is mostly sand there correct? If im not correct, disregard my statement all together.
Everytime ive been riding 4 wheelers in sand pits, my tires look really clean after riding. Its because my tires are actually getting a "sand blasting" effect. They look clean and black....im betting your tires are experiencing the same thing.
O well just my 2 cents.
Anyways, I usually use Simple Green barely diluted and a stiff brush. It seems to work pretty good. Im scared to use Bleach White or anything stronger because I dont want to spot or discolor my chrome wheels...

i tell you what man just get you a bottle of Westley's and just spray it on the tire and let it sit you dont even have to wet the tire down before you do it. Just do that and watch the crap come off the tires and see how much of a difference it makes in the look. The if you wanna add a brush or scrub with it makes it look better, plus it wont hurt your rims either and will add a bit of a shine and protector to your rims and get ride of brake dust.

If you leave it on your rims it might spot them lol but you should always go back and detail your chrome rims man lol. As far as hurting them it never has peeled, cracked, stained,or anything to any chrome rim i have put it on. hell i spray it on the tire and the rim to.

Re: cleaning tires.
Westley's just ruined one of my wheels. I wiped the wheels down after I was done cleaning, but one drop dripped onto the black paint on my wheel after I was done for the night I guess. The next morning I noticed it had eaten off a dime sized piece of paint. Tires looked **** though!

didnt read any replys. but i use bleach white spray you would use to clean white walls. spray it on and use a scrub brush to loosen up the dirt. do it as many times as you want. It doesnt make them shine but they look new.

Re: cleaning tires.
i allways just use a scrubbing brush and a big bucket of soapy warm water , and go to town , then wash off with pressure washer and then spay some tire shin on it and they would look good as new , every time i wash mine ,people think i just bought new tires . every week i wash it . especially if you have white letters , scrubbing brush is the way to go.

Re: cleaning tires.
Whestlys can in fact ruin wheels very easily. Ive seen it pit and spot rims severly numeroous times within a matter of 30 seconds. Gotta be really careful with that crap.

Re: cleaning tires.
Eric go 4x4ing in the sand that will get them super black. I member when I would go to South Padre Island in our Scout them there tires would get nice and black. Grandma Pyle would also put some sugar in a bucket with well water that there would work as well.

Probably not the most earth friendly, but I usually use Ajax and an old scrub brush.
