cleaning tires.

hey guys i went in a little bit of mud with my truck and let it sit on the tires for like 3 days because i was camping. its hard to get the brown stain off of the tires. is there a more efficient way of doing this other than pressure washing because that didnt take it all off. i want them to look brand new again.

thanks,
-eric

Re: cleaning tires.

Westley's Bleach White. spray it on and go to town with a stiff bristled nylon brush. usually gets it all the first time but if not then just go over it again. it'll get them nice and black again.

Re: cleaning tires.

Eagle 1 Wheel and Tire Cleaner, spray bottle. Honest to God Truth, best stuff you can get. Been using if for 6-7 yrs.

Auto parts store will have it. Spray on the DRY tire, let sit a minute, and agitate (optional) with a brush. The more you scrub the better outcome, but it will do fine w/o scrubbing.

I can't recommend this stuff enough.

EDIT: Wesleys Bleach White is good, but second best

I hear ya. It's the same way with me, I've never had to try another product.

Oh, and didn't it go "I fart in your general direction"?

Re: cleaning tires.

I use Armor All tire shine, but the low shine stuff after I scrub with a medium brissle brush. If you want your tires to look new spray on wipe off. That's been my method for 4 years.

Re: cleaning tires.

get an APC such as simple green. spray on the tires and let them soak for a bit. then spray them down again and scrub with a wheel brush. top off with some Poorboys Bold N' Bright and they'll look like new

Simple and Mean green have nothing on Eagle 1 or Wesleys...You see, those are "All Purpose Cleaners"...you want a "Tire Cleaner"

If I have to make a video comparing the 3 I'll do it Dammit....

Re: cleaning tires.

I use Super Clean Wheel/Tire Cleaner/APC works great. Westlys bleach white i was under the impression was for cleaning white walls/raised white lettering. i only used it once, it worked well, but i hated the little pump bottle, and didnt like the fact that it was like a bleach. ClearKote makes a vinyl/leather/rubber cleaner which works awesome as well, but thats more of a LSP

It has nothing to do with clay or mudding. My suburban is a street queen and the tires get hella brown lookin by just rollin on pavement....We don't use the cleaner to get heavy caked mud off, nor do we use the brush for that purpose. Obviously you have never seen a before and after pic of a tire cleaned with Eagle 1 or Wesleys....It looks clean and black, like the day you bought it, and the white letters (if you have em) look new also.

If you mud every weekend and dont clean your tires, then you obviously have no experience with this subject and/or don't have anything to add. Why fvck up a good thread?

Key Word: In Your Opinion. The guy was asking for advice on tire cleaner, not advice on if his tires were dirty in the first place.

You want to know why we spend money on tire cleaner? Because was like to. I'm tryin to figure out why you go out and tear your truck up every weekend. Oh Wait, I'll bet it's because you like to. See how this works?

Another thing I'm trying to figure out, why waste your time posting BS on a technical thread?
