What would be the best way to get gum off of paint??
My girlfriend somehow ran over some gum and it s stuck to the side of her car. What would be the easiest and best way to get it off???

hmmm, peanut butter? , Not really sure. I had that happen once, but it was on my Cutlass and the paint wasn't all that great anyway, so I just used bug&tar remover. It worked good.

I was thinking about that, but I just wanted to make sure, because it is a black 2001 Mazda Milenia and I didn't want to chance doing something to the paint.

I used blue coral soap on mine and a high pressure sprayer, some dickhead thought it would be cute to smear a piece all over my fender. Lucky I wasn't out there, I may be in prison right now lol

Ok, we know about gum now. What about duct tape adhesive?

I'm guessing a piece of duct tape got caught in the open sunroof on my wife's car and then when she closed it, it closed with the sunroof. She drive with it sticking out the front seam of the sunroof and it was flapping around all over the roof of the car and left sticky crap everywhere that I need to get off. Think the WD-40 trick will work here too?

Cool. I got plenty of WD-40 layin around! My dad had suggested polishing it off. Ummm...no. That just sounds like too much work to me. Polish doesn't break stuff down.

I used WD-40 to get my decalls off, and it seemed like it worked okay, and didn't hurt the paint, somebody suggested Goo-Gone, How does that work?

That was me And it works great! That is what it was made for. Most supermarkets carry it, it is a small bottle usually by the shoe polish Hey, it works what else you want from me?:p BTW, 1bad I wash my trucks w/ 100 grit sand-paper so I can only assume never-dull works great! ;)

I've heard that works wonders! But someone told me that 60 grit works even better.

Only on an electric sander! By hand, I recomend the 100.;) followed up by gravel for the "just washed" shine!

Neverdull
well apparently you have not ever used the stuff before. It is exactly like using goo gone or WD 40. Remind me to never post anything in here again if all your going to do is ridicule and make fun of.

Neverdull is used for polishing, and yes I have used it. I can also tell you that I would NEVER use it on my paint. WD40 & GOO-GONE break down adhesives/gum by just sitting there with little or no rubbing. Like I said I have used neverdull and I can tell you it will not do what the previous 2 items do. Did not mean to "cut you up" by any means, but the never dull answer just did not make sense, so I though it was a "smart-ass" comment.

I agree with CKTA in that I though your neverdull statement was meant to be smartass. If you have read through a lot of the other threads on this site, you'll know that we're all pretty laid back and lighthearted and don't really take too much too seriously. CKTA and I did not mean to go off on you. We were just taking what we had and running with it. We didn't mean anything against you personally, so please don't take it that way.

I must say that the "NevrDull" that I have used was kind of a soft steel wool material that I would never put anywhere near a paint job. I'll stick with the WD-40 and GooGone.

Don't be mad, 93 Silverado. Welcome to our boards and enjoy the humor.
