Re: Shining up my Aluminum Rims

I mentioned this in another thread with a similar question. I polish with rouges and rotary polishers frequently. I have found an amazing polish called BlingBros Premium Polish. I use it to maintain my vehicles, as well as customer vehicles. I have found it to be easy to use, and doesn't have all the nasty chemicals in it either. I have been amazed at the things I have brought back to shine. I have used it on 40 year old greasy nasty sprockets, forks and bolts, with amazing results, and not much work in comparison to every other polish I have ever tried. I use it on painted motorcycle undertails and fenders, because it removes the grease the chain flips around with ease. If I use solvents for this, it strips everything off the painted surface. But using this polish the grease quickly washes away, leaving a nice shine on the painted or polished surface. It is also guaranteed just like adams. I have never used the adams stuff, but it sounds really good also based off what I have heard from you guys here. Anyway I love this stuff, and now cringe at how hard I used to work. Technology is GOOOOOD!

Re: Shining up my Aluminum Rims

Ok, But have you ever used the Magic Mix? It will do the same thing...The ingredient that removes the grease & Tar is the Mineral spirits like solvent. (Which is a VOC, A reason California dont want it made there) Mineral spirits is hardly a "Dangerous" solvent in comparison to most other petroleum products.

Many other polishes use petroleum based solvents for cleaner.

I have not heard of the BlingBros product...Is it new? I am familiar with Adams products and they are OK. But I still dont think their Metal Polish is as good as Magic Mix.
And pricing? How much is Adams? and BlingBros? Magic Mix is under $10 for a 8oz bottle that goes forever, and full retail on the 16oz is around $16 And many places sell it cheaper than suggested retail.

And literally...A 16oz bottle would last most hobbiest car guys like 3-5 years. Unless they are using it everyday like a business. Most new customers say that someone gave them a very old nearly empty bottle to "try" and they rave about the product and order it. Very few people use a bottle from start to finish themselves, A few customers even complain the bottles grow legs, as their friends and relatives tend to steal it. (Really its that good)

Re: Shining up my Aluminum Rims

I havent heard of this magic mix sounds good, but what ive done to older wheels SLot mags and such is start off with about 300 grit wet dry sandpaper, then go to 500 grit then 600 then 1000, then 2000 then mothers and they were perfect.....but ill tell you this....if one of these other ways takes less time? go with that!! This process takes probably 2 1/2 hours per wheel....so unless you are sitting around with nothing to do....haha

Re: Shining up my Aluminum Rims

These videos are great for polishing idea's haha

it is a good idea but only works for the lip of the wheel.

I going to get me some of that magic mix polish and try it out. Cause I have always used mothers and it is alot of work and does leave a haze.

Re: Shining up my Aluminum Rims

just type in Magic Mix Metal Polish into a search engine and dealers will show up. Most consistently sold in truck stops.

Scheid Diesel service is about the cheapest place to find it.

Re: Shining up my Aluminum Rims

Blue Magic... nope. Blue Magic is full of Ammonia which is terrible for aluminum wheels.
