how do i clean my engine before i paint it ? please help!!
hi i am wondering how to clean my engine before i paint it. i have the motor out of the truck and i want to paint it orange and i am wondering how to clean all the grease off before i paint it and if i should use a primer before i put the orange paint on thanks guys. i really need help

Gunk engine degreaser, followed up with about 6 cans of brake clean. The use self etching primer, then paint. You could use base/clear or just regular rattle can at this point.

with the "right paint" and prep white isnt hard to keep clean and l keep my vehicles spotless...idealy my next engine will be powder coated...this one was done with a bake on enamal type paint

And try to have a bolt in every tapped hole. Just buy a bunch of long bolts from Tractor Supply or a similar store.

ok thanks guys i am so excited to get this all done i just ordered long tube hedders too and am having true duals put on it ill post pic when done in prob a week

i just put my block in a hot tank for a day, and pressure washed it off
