Re: 95 6.5 liter diesel 3500 HD/standard trans
granted, there is no reason to chip my truck out any further than what it already has. I want to get rid of the 85 mph limit on full throttle. Like I say before, this truck is hell from a standing start full throttle thru the gears, but 85 mph, the engine kicks out...have you noticed with the Roosa/Master (no throttle linkage) the kickback from the petal on full speed throttle on these diesels? Re: 95 6.5 liter diesel 3500 HD/standard trans
the reason the truck can't get anymore power is that it is a
1 1/2 ton 9 ft.flatbed built by General Truck and Body in Houston,Tex. and chipped out(according to G.T.& B.) to roll on 222/70R19.5 wheels and was built as a 5th wheel flatbed. Only one vacuum hose from pump to vacuum dump valve and then to the turbo, it came with oil and powersteering hydroboost brake coolers. This Chevy is anything but slow from a standstill without breaking a sweat in 3rd gear. it's a Pasadena Tex. redneck nighmare dually.

You seem to be bashing everyone but gmpartsdirect.

Honestly, I was considering ordering the '06 towing mirrors from them, but if there's any possibility that you are in any way related to them, I think I'll pass.

As far as libel... you are the one who popped your head up after 2 years and started bashing vendors who have a very solid reputation. I've dealt with Kennedy and Merchant for over a year and have had no problems.

Re: 95 6.5 liter diesel 3500 HD/standard trans
I am in no way affiliated with gmpartsdirect, and you can not buy from them, that's your choice and that's perfectly fine with me! I offered the link to them as a source with low prices.
I also use pace parts and NAPA, AutoZone, PepBoys, Michelin, Bilstein and Goodyear, you can avoid those companies/products too...

NOT bashing, just stating facts and giving a heads up on what to avoid and if someone is misled to think I am selling parts I will clear the air! if you were not one of their victims, then good for you! I simply posted a heads-up to help others avoid being victims, that should not be called "bashing".

Sigh. Shouldn't do that.

Look here - he's selling his stuff again.

http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/...d.php?t=222059

I just hate catching people when they lie...

Might want to also look at:

or
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=513964

As for this thread, Mike, your problem is a changed gearing caused by decreased tire size, right? You can get around that by talking to a reputable chip programmer and getting your limiter changed in your PCM ... the 6.5TD run real good up to about 4000 rpm with enough boost. Above that you need stronger springs on the valve train to stop the 'float'.

Sounds like you have a cool truck, Mike... Hope this helps!
