fuel leak on 6.5 TD
hey all, noticed I was leasking fuel. I believe i pinpointed the location. Looking from the passenger side towards the rear of intake manifold I could see something dripping. One of the lines leads to there. Anyway How do i render this problem? dont know much about this engine.
Fuel was dripping off the starter and bellhousing. I followed the lines and they were mostly dry considering how much fuel was leaking ( a drop a second) The only thing I can think of Is the leak on the manifold. thanks for any help

Re: fuel leak on 6.5 TD
That is where the fuel filter is. Maybe the top is not tight, or maybe one of the lines is damaged or loose. Buy a new filter and replace it. While you are back there, look for any problems.

The filter housing is bolted to the back of the intake manifold. It has a round ring that screws on and holds the filter in place.

HTH,

Bill

Sorry, I wasn't trying to give a specific thread, just point him in the right direction. There is an incredible amount of info over there. Sometimes it is better to search for info like that rather than have it handed to you.

Chris and I are both members over there!

that's understandable, sometimes though it just makes it hard to get things going here and build a good knowledge base when you keep getting sent somewhere else

Re: fuel leak on 6.5 TD
Their Is A Metric O- Ring Under Bottom Of Fuel Filter(manger)housing, I Had To Replace Mine. I Had Fuel On Top Of Manifold I Had To Take Rags And Dry Up Fuel To Determine The Fuel Leak Source.also Had A Lot Of Gunk In Bottom Of Filter Housing.should Clean Out If Removing Filter Housing.
