possible transfer case leak?
I was under my truck this morning changing the oil when I noticed that an area under my bed looked really shiny. I slid back that way and it appears that the yoke coming out of my transfer case is somehow slinging fluid. I can't find where it's coming out though. It's not leaking from the seal to the ground. I pulled the plug on the case and it's close to full I think. I couldn't get my finger in there to check very well. There seems to be about a 1/16th size hole on the yoke that looked a little wet around it. Can it be spraying from there? Also the fluid is red and looks just like ATF. Thanks

Re: possible transfer case leak?
There is a problem with a metal clip breaking in the case causing the pump to rub a hole in the case. There is a permanent fix for this if that the problem contact www.gmdieseltech.comabout the fix. Keep any eye on your fluid level the tcase Cost around $1200 to replace. You need to clean up the case and try and better find where the leak is coming from.

Re: possible transfer case leak?
Thanks for the heads up on that one! I'll scour over the case just to check for that. We found that the rear output shaft seal is leaking on to the yoke and then the yoke is slinging it on to my exhaust and bottom of the bed. I'm going to fix that this weekend. It was about $31 bucks for the seal from NAPA. Better than $1200 for a new T-Case! Wow.
