EGT vs. Fuel Ratio is an Upsided down U shape. Too much or Too little will lower EGTs, as you hit stoichiometric (14.3:1 for diesel) EGTs will rise.
I can gurantee that you will make more power slightly richer than stoichiometric on a diesel, but the tradeoff is you will be changing pistons and valves soon. Peak EGT is actually very close to where your engine is running best. I typically go to peak EGT, then go richer to drop the EGTs down to a safer level.

Whatever, peak EGTs on a diesel is when your motor melts down.

I don't care if the engine is gas, diesel, propane, E85, or whatever, when you richen the mixture past what is necessary, it provides a cooling effect.

I disagree...

Re: I want my truck to do this!!
Imagine what it could do if it actually used all the fuel it is dumping in it!

BLOCKS? Are you sure? Every Diesel I have seen has a cast Iron block. Now, that's not saying they aren't out there, but MOST? I don't think so.

well in order to melt at 1350 they would have to stay at that heat for an extended period of time and i doubt that you could keep it over 1350 for long enough to melt em

Not as much if he then added the fuel to make is smoke again over fueling=more power in the diesel world. It’s nothing to keep EGTs above 1350* and you don't have to worry about the aluminum heads when most diesels have aluminum pistons.
