no it doesnt...same front suspension, steering,trans, and brakes and 8 lug hubs. Thats about all it shares with a 2500HD.

The 2500HD has a COMPLETELY different frame, completely different rear axle, completely different transfer case, and a significantly higher GVWR.

its better to think of the 1500HD as a beefed up half ton than a scaled down 3/4 ton IMHO....

i under stand that i didnt say it was the exact same. and the one i worked on sure looked like it had the same rear end. I never said it had the same frame.

The rear ends are most definitely different. HD's with the 6.0 will have the same rear end, but if you get the allison either 8.1 or Dmax, the rear end is 11.5", not 10.5" like the 8 lug in the 1500HD. It's big, trust me.

not really i said it had a hd axel. i never said it was the same one that comes with the 8.1l and disel did i. Im not trying to argue with you guys here. Im also not trying to say i know everything because i sure as hell dont i was just stating something i noticed the other day.

y'all are both wrong

1500HD has a 9.5" semi floater rear. 1500HD has the same frame/platform/drivetrain as a 2500 Suburban/Avalanche.

2500HD 6.0 has a 10.5" full floater

2500HD with the 8.1 and Duramax has a 11.5" full floater
