6.5 potential
My dad just got a bullydog system in his truck and it pretty much got me hooked on diesels.

The local auto traders have basic work trucks for a few grand with a 6.5

Power wise, what could a 6.5 be capable of making?

Re: 6.5 potential
check out www.dieselplace.com in the 6.5 section.

the initial problem with making big power with this engine is the compression ratio (around 21:1, for power you need 18:1). all it takes is some 18:1 pistons to fix that. gm8 turbo or a banks kit will help out alot more as well.

Re: 6.5 potential
The thing to remember with a 6.5, is they're basically a modded 6.2 in the first place, going nuts on one with upgrades is a good way to crack a block. With sensible mods ie, exhaust, intake, gauges, and a mild reprogram or chip, with a F engine it isant unreasonable to make 260hp and 475ft'lbs safely.

You will probably need to go 18:1 to make those numbers.....still easily done.....just takes $$$
