94 6.5TD code 17
so i am the verry proud owner of a 94 chvey ex cab, long bed 2500 2x4, this truck is nice, only 122k old man owner and the truck is loaded, BD exaust break, Gear Vendors Over/Under drive. i love it, k&n, and i know the exaust hasnt ever been done so i cut the muffler off 1st thing, the cat is starting 2 clog, no big deal im gettn stacks and no cat lol but the truck has just died a couple of times and when it dose it pulls code 17, every place i look tells me code 17 is something diffrent frome what the last place told me, the only one i trust is Code 17 Fuel Temp Sensor, if code 17 realy is fuel temp sen. wher is it ont the truck, would a cloged cat make the fuel tep sen. thro. also whats a pmd?

Code 17 = High Resolution Circuit Fault
Could be the optic sensor....
95 1500 4x4, 6.5 TD, PMD cooler, #9 resistor, Heath Turbomaster, GL4 chip, ISSPRO pyro and boost gauge, custom intake, ATA IC, Heath HO injectors, 3/8" IP supply line, 4" exhaust, -1.94 TDCO, ARP head studs, Heath HO lift pump, HO waterpump, Rancho RS5000 shocks

Also - do you have a filter harness on the OS? If so, you may want to take it off and see what happens...

what is the os and where is it, im sry not yet firmiliar with the truck yet, and wher is the optic sensor, what dose it do, i read in a repair man, it was a fuel temp, and i dnt know wher it is, any ways thanks for yalls help i love this truck this is all thats wrong with it and if i turn it off and back on it gose away
