Re: Bio-diesel strait into diesel tank?
You could, depends which grade of bio-diesel it is. If it's the regular stuff you could fill up with it. If it's the less refined stuff then you'll need to change any rubber fuel hoses you have. (over time it will eat the hose away) But also if you do use regular bio-diesel make sure you got some fuel filters. With bio-diesel it's a little dirty-er and will dirty that filter faster. I buy the cheapest filter I can get a hold of.

My old man runs bio-diesel in his bobcats, I run it in the 1996 c/k and riding lawnmower. Lawnmower gets a little more umph throwing snow.

It isn't dirty its cleaner in fact. That the problem it will clean out your fuel system and all that carp could plug you filter up fast.

Re: Bio-diesel strait into diesel tank?
Bio acts like a very good solvent so it cleans the tank the lines etc and clogs the fuel filter by doing so. The older rubber hoses etc in truck fall apart when used with bio. I dont think we need to worry with the newer trucks

Re: Bio-diesel strait into diesel tank?
I think really any diesel would be fine with bio-diesel. Alot of farm tractors are running it also. No changes done to the engines. Might not see the mileage you would get with regular diesel. But if you can get it cheap. Who cares how many times you fill up. It would be worth it in the long run. Some towns sell bio-diesel cheap. And others it's the same price as regular diesel. I've ran bio-diesel in the duramax once already. No troubles there yet. If my engine goes to hell, I'm going to tell the dealership someone sold me some crappy diesel fuel LOL.
