Re: dmax?
pretty big, with all the plumbing theres hardly any space left over under the hood. the block itself is a little larger then a big block Chevy. why do you ask, you wana do an engine swap?

Re: dmax?
Sitting on an engine stand its actually not very big. The main gerth to the bare engine is the 4 valve per cylinder heads. They're wide like a DOHC head and take up quite a bit of space. The block itself like mentioned is pretty much comparable to a big block.

Re: dmax?
would be cool to see if you could make it fit, any idea on what tranny? i doubt there would be anywhere near enough room for an allison, heck you cant even get a dmax in SC/SB becaouse the driveline is so long.

Re: dmax?
My mistake, My friends Cummins diesel is really heavy. The Duramax with aluminum heads doesn't weigh much more than a BBC

Re: dmax?
the dmax powered vans have a 4l85e i think. you could make that setup fit. it would be a tight fit for the engine, probably wouldn't have room for an inter cooler and the plumbing that goes with it. people post the dmax swap threads allot on forums and you rarely see it done, it seems like a tough job, lot of electrical crap to deal with too.
