6.5TD in a 72 Cheyenne?
i have a 94 6.5TD with 130k i have been saving as a spare motor for my truck but i have a chance to buy a 72 short bed 2WD that had an auto in it with out the motor and tranny how hard do you all think it would to swap in the 6.5 with a 4l80E? P.S. i have the money so i dont need to hear about something else being cheaper i just want to know how hard it will be ?

Shouldn't be to hard at all.
Motor mounts, you may need a bigger radiator, other then that, should just be wiring, throttle cable. Little things like that.
4L80's are what they put behind those anyway.

That would be a pretty easy swap. Just make sure you got a torque converter for the diesel engine. Other then that it should be simple. Take your time.

might also need to switch out gas tanks unless your current tank is emptied and cleaned possibly a different fuel filter as well. Otherwise, what's been said is pretty good advice as well.
