whats up with that man? other than "with" after factory id say it was a pretty perfect English sentence at least it was about 1000x better than most of the incoherant ramblings of some of these country bumpkins we got around here.

and ed, its probably been done, would most likely need to swap out the tranny that the 6.0 came with for an allison or a ZF6 manual. as far as the electronics go im not sure, of course it can be done but it might be a lot of work. you have a truck with a 6.0 that your looking to use or just an idea?

Re: diesel swap
Trade that baby off for a truck with a 6.6 diesel in it already. It's going to cost about the same, swap or trade-in. When it comes to emissions. Engine sizes can be regulated. But being the 2500/3500 came with a 6.6 diesel as a factory option. Then it is legal to have a 6.6 in it as long as it passes emissions in your area. As for a older truck you can use any size of engine you want.

Re: diesel swap
i have a 05 2500hd w/ a 6.0l. if i were to put a diesel in it, it would come with the tranny, transfer case, etc. with all the wiring and stuff. ill have to ask the emmisions people about it then.

anyone know if the frame and engine mounts are the same?

Re: diesel swap
If it's a HD, yup. diesel and gas have identical frames. Only difference is transmission and a diesel engine. There used to be the 8.1 gas with the Allison transmission also. The difference was torque converter stall speed. If your converted you 6.0 gas to a diesel. You would need computer, engine, transmission, and maybe wire harness. I don't know for sure because I never done this swap. I would think you would need different engine mounts as well.
