How the f$%k?

Ok so my buddy has an 07 Duramax and asked me to change the fuel filter for him. No problem I told him.

Ok so the jobs done and she's purring like a kitten. (A really loud angry kitten). I return the truck to its rightful owner and my job is done... well not quite.

my buddy calls me later and says "Hey, you didn't shut my doohicky off". HUH? The doohickey he refers to is the fuel filter maintenance light. Does anyone know how to reset this god awful creation??

There is this thing in the glove box containing multiple pages of useful information. In some parts of the world they refer to it as the owners manual.

Depending on the year it can be done either with a scan tool or using the steering wheel controls or the trip meter reset button if it doesn't have steering wheel controls. Regaurdless of the method you do it key on engine off. IIRC by 07 they had it setup so you could reset it without needing a scan tool. The book will tell the tale though.

Re: How the f$%k?

If it is a classic use the steering wheel controls like said before and if it is a new body use the dic and the little check mark button.

But seriously it gets pretty old after a while when people come in saying my car says the tire is low (and its all but running on the rim), what do I do? I mean seriously, can it be anymore black and white then that?

Re: How the f$%k?

Well let me just start by saying that if he had an owners manual I wouldn't have even turned on the computer to type this.

Anyway it is a classic and I will see where I get with it tomorrow.

Well what about if the DIC says your front passenger tire is flat when in fact it is perfectly aired up but your rear passenger tire is flat? Yeah i think some wires got crossed at the factory when they put together my Cobalt.

Lets just say my excuse is because 16 is legal in Oklahoma. I will quote from one of Louis and Peter's band, Handful of Peter, songs. "Man I would totally do her."

Re: How the f$%k?

You spelled "regardless" wrong. There is this thing under words that are spelled wrong, that you can right click on and it will give a list of useful information including words that you are possibly trying to spell. I don't understand how you can be a smart-ass and spell a word wrong when you are being a d*ck, especially when it is so simple to right click on the misspelled word and correct it.

Sincerely,
Internet

My claim to fame is not spelling. While I did maintain a 115 average in junior high spelling I was also the worst speller in the class while doing so.

Regaurdless. (right clicks on word, notices firefox has a list of words I could have meant, sees regaurdless spelled regardless and clicks on it, firefox inserts correct spelling for word)

Been using firefox for several months now and I'm still figuring out its features.

Wow, Mr Obvious above doesn't realize that not everyone has fire fox, like myself, so they don't have spell check on forums!
