Post Your Pics Of Led Tail Lights
Ok I'm going to be ordering a roll pan with 10.5" leds strips for my tail lights/brake lights/turn signals and shaving the stock tail lights. I'm just worried that they aren't going to be bright enough and the cops will hassle me about them. So if you could please post your led strips brand and if you have daytime and night time shots that would be great, but heres what I'm looking for as far as pictures if you would want to go snap some for me , one during the day with the brakes on, one at night with just the tail lights on, and then one at night with the brakes on.

Also if you could tell me how you get the leds to function as a brake/tail/signal I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

Re: Post Your Pics Of Led Tail Lights
Who are you ordering them from? Since you said "rollpan with 10.5 LEDs" I take it your getting them from Custom Classics?? If so they will be plenty bright for you. The only hassle the cops will give you with LEDs is the lack of a rear reflector. As far as hooking them up as Brake/turn/running lights they will come with instructions to show you how.

Re: Post Your Pics Of Led Tail Lights
if the cops hassle you about it, it'll more than likely be because they are TOO bright...mine are from custom classic.

daytime running, they'll all be running and brake when i get the pigtails..."if" i ever get them...

daytime brakes, also remember from straight behind they are a lot brighter

night running

night brakes

soon...

Re: Post Your Pics Of Led Tail Lights
Holy **** LOL those are alot brighter than I was expecting. And I'm ordering from FBI, but don't start a flame about them, I know I have heard alot of bad things about them, but I have heard good things too and I'm willing to give them a try. I just believe that a business like that (selling custom parts and what not) wouldn't stay in business if they sold a ****ty products, the word would get out and nobody would buy from them. They have to be doing something right IMO and you can't beat their prices and if I have to work with their sheetmetal I'll let you guys know from my experience. I'm going to be ordering a pan, tail lights fillers, and a tail gate handle relocator in a few months and will deffinately let you know what I think of their stuff

As far as the police it depends on what they allow. Here in Hawaii they will site you if you do not have DOT tails from the factory. So if there is a cop that wants to hastle you I bet they would no matter how bright or not.

With that being said I would do what you want it will Be sure to post pics after you do the work.

Yeah but there is a difference between AIM and FBI for me. FBI has really good customer service, they always get right back to me and have answers for any questions that I have for them and also I have heard good things from different people about FBI. AIM on the other hand, there are way too many people on alot of different forums that have tried their products and hate it. They also have pi$$ poor customer service and you can tell just by looking at their products that they look pretty shady. Plus I'm not going to get cheap suspension parts, I'm going to go through a company that has a pretty good name going for themselves. I wouldn't trust a cheap suspension part for my vehicles, but there are alot of people that would rather save a few hundred dollars and take the chance.

When I make my order I will be sure to post up pics of the fitment and give you my first hand experience.

Thanks alot guys

Custom Classic, Silver star Customs, and Hitech (I think) sells them. I have a set of Silver star customs 10.5" LED with reverse lights that I will be intalling in my rollpan later on.

Re: Post Your Pics Of Led Tail Lights
LOWGREEAN1--thats an interesting place for the lights, I have never seen them at the top of the taol gate. Looks good. I just don't think they are very bright, but it might be the camera like you said.

Do you think anyone would have a problem seeing them? I have led tail/brake lights on my bike and they aren't very bright and I haven't had any problems and there is almsot no difference between the tail lights and the brake lights. I guess I just have to spend the cash and see how they are in person. But it will be a little while before I make my order, but I will keep everyone posted.

It's a ****ty camera. They are very bright. They are a single row light though. The ones I'm installing next will be a double row light and are alot brighter than these. I have never had any trouble as far as somebody not seeing them. As far as your bike, they probably are not the quality as these other places I mentioned. Also your bike lights might not be hooked up right if your can barely tell a difference. I hook the other lights I had up just to see how bright they were and I could barely tell a difference between the brake and running lights. But I then found out I had two wires switched. I fixed that and almost blinded myself. Where do you plan on mounting yours at?? One reason I mounted mine on the top of the tailgate is because I wanted people to be able to see them without any trouble. LED lights are directional so unless you are looking straight at them, they can be hard to see at certain angles, and throw in the sunlight hitting them, and they can be invisible at certain times. To be perfectly honest with you, If it's a daily driver your putting these on, I would not do it. Would I do it again on my daily driver?? NO. There are so many things you have to worry about. I had one of my lenses busted out by someone in a parking lot I guess trying to feel them.. I'm just being honest with you. If it's a show truck that gets very little drive time, "have at it", but if it's a daily driver I would suggest another route. Plus I just noticed you are from Wisconsin and although it gets cold here in OK, I'm pretty sure it doesn't get as cold and for as long as it does where you live. And I reall don't know what effect that would have on the glue that you will have to use to glue the lenses in??

Re: Post Your Pics Of Led Tail Lights
No man its not a DD, but its not a show truck either. I just want something that will be seen. Also the lights on my bike are hooked up right, but they aren't very good leds and there is only 6 in each lense. I'm going to be putting them in the roll pan. Also the truck is stored on my garage during the winter so I'm not concerned about the glue. I should be ordering some parts in the next month or so, so I will keep you guys updated on my progress.

Heres a really crappy clip of my leds on my bike taken with my digital camera. Its also kind of dark in my garage, but during the day you can hardly see them at all
