can this be done with a flux core mig? I have a big MIG and two TIG's but was just wondering so dont bash

If it is not held fast because of a deformation in the frame from a car accident, then the handle opening mechanism is probably disconnected.
If you carefully dissassemble the door covering on the inside, you should get access to this mechanism.
