Re: The Official Silverado SS bumper information thread!!
This may seem like a dumb question, but what is this used for: 15124949 - Front Bumper Bracket (left or right side)

And what about the other two brackets you have listed? Are these brackets all used to mount the cover to the bumper or are they used to mount the bumper to the frame? I can't see your pictures because your picture hosting site if blocked from me.

fer79, I love the way your front end looks with the grille frame painted red and the mesh, or whatever you call it, is painted black.

The bracket is used to hold the sides of the cover that wrap around the bumper to the bumper itself. The other two brackets support the lower lip of the cover by bolting it to the bottom of the bumper itself.

Sorry for the delayed response.

That's one I'm not sure about

Street Scenes may be able to answer that question since they offer a cover for the GMC.

Re: The Official Silverado SS bumper information thread!!
street scene offers SS Style bumper covers for just about every year Silverado, CK pick up, Suburban, Tahoe and S10. On the Silverado, its slightly diffrent than the OE style SS look but its also a lot more in-expensive. The Street Scene bumper covers are made to go over the top of the factory bumper so you dont need all the brackets and other factory hardware.

Re: The Official Silverado SS bumper information thread!!
Does anyone have the Street Scene SS bumper cover copy for the silverado? I just read the install instructions, it looks cheesy using 2 sided tape and 4 sheet meal screws to hold the cover on.

And I'd imagine fitment is rough on the street scene cover, but please proove me wrong
Ok... so what exactly is the allowable sig size? It doesn't say it anywhere in "edit signature" in User CP

Re: The Official Silverado SS bumper information thread!!
Colby, got some questions, does the oem ss bumper cover fit over the stock chrome bumper and top bumper pad like the street scene and then attatches with the other 4 brackets? Also do the left and right air ducts attatch inside the bumper gaps and do they come with all the screws, clips, and fasteners needed? Are there
any drawbacks to the street scene cover other than not being authentic oem? What about the difference in getting them prepped for paint? Is the oem bumper made of fiberglass? Thanks for the help man.

Re: The Official Silverado SS bumper information thread!!
Hey the part numbers that are listed here are for the Dale Earnhardt edition!! I found some of the parts for half the cost for a regular SS. Does anyone have pictures of some of these parts, expecially the brackets for the bumper cover? I am trying do determine if I need the Bumper filler parts as well? I just bought a OEM 2003 SS cover, but it didn't come with anything. Suprisingly it was painted........Black though Thanks, Rob

[quote=Colby 04]Install questions? Here's some answers!

Take some time to toss the bumper cover on and get familiar with the mounting points and mock up the brackets.

Here are some part numbers for the Silverado SS body pieces, however, I have not verified all of them.

The list price for the front cover, 2 airducts and the 4 brackets is over $800, but the dealer should provide a discount off of that, or check GMpartsdirect.com. The paint was around $200, this will vary by location.

89044506 - headlight to bumper filler panel
89044507 - headlight to bumper filler panel
15197889 - License Plate Bracket
15178219 - Crossbar and Grille
12335659 - Front Bumper (unpainted)
12335765 - Front Bumper Grille
12335766 - Passenger Air Duct (silver in color)
12335767 - Driver Air Duct (silver in color)
15124949 - Front Bumper Bracket (left or right side)
15182636 - Front Bumper Bracket (not sure which side)
15182637 - Front Bumper Bracket (not sure which side)
10360423 - Driver Front Door Molding
10360428 - Passenger Front Door Molding
10360434 - Driver Rear Door Molding
10360441 - Passenger Rear Door Molding
15178226 - Passenger Fender Molding (Behind Front Wheel)
15178227 - Driver Fender Molding (Behind Front Wheel)
88980000 - Passenger Rocker Panel (Under Door Cladding)
88980186 - Driver Rocker Panel (Under Door Cladding)
15178234 - Passenger Rear Fender Molding (Before Rear Wheel)
15178235 - Driver Rear Fender Molding (After Rear Door)
15197858 - Passenger Rear Panel (After Rear Door)
15197857 - Driver Rear Panel (Before Rear Wheel)
88944467 - (Not sure which side) Silverado SS Panel (Behind Rear Wheel)
88980189 - (Not sure which side) Silverado SS Panel (Behind Rear Wheel)
15178282 - Lower Tailgate Molding
15197873 - Tailgate Spoiler
15178667 - Decal on Tailgate
15178666 - SS Letters
88944059 - Rear Bumper Cover

Just for reference I ordered Part Number 15197873 from GMpartsdirect.com and got a peice of molding. They say that this is not the correct number for the tailgate spoiler. Can anyone verify this number?

Thanks

What all does the Street Scene covers come with? Do the air ducts have to be ordered seperately and do they come in the color you want or do they have to be painted?

It is a one piece deal. The ducts are molded into the whole urethane cover
