Its illegal to remove the actual reflectors from a vehicle. Not having the reflectors means you have a greater chance that someone driving down the road at night may not see your truck until its too late because there were no reflectors to "flash" the light back to the oncomer.
Sure, there are some PDs, municipalities that don't care as much as others, but why take a risk like having someone hit you cause you took something off that was designed to be there for a purpose. Don't get me wrong, I really like the look of the NNBS with the amber reflectors removed, but the right thing to do would be to remove the stock amber reflectors if you must, then get some of the amber or clear DOT reflector tape, cut it down to a real narow ands rectangular shape, and put it somewhere on that side of the vehicle near to the headlight, like between the gap in the bumper and the fender. That way, you still have the proper reflection to the sides, but during the day, all you see is the cool looking headlight. Then your still legit, yet the mod looks awesome, so you have nothing to worry about.
With everybody so sue-crazy these days, I don't want someone hitting my truck, then suing me because I violated the law by removing the reflectors. Then Im at the mercy of the system.

Re: How too clear NNBS GMT900 07-08 Silverado Headlights
wow this thread should be a sticky on "how not to clear your corners" your actually supposed to bake your headlights. The guys down at ACC that do halos are pro's at this. I baked my headlights on my escalade front end headlights, and i also baked my 300C headlights. Nice try though

Re: How too clear NNBS GMT900 07-08 Silverado Headlights
The oven trick as stated does not work. I even tried a pencil torch and it didn't even touch the glue. They should coat the space shuttle with the stuff.
Thanks for the pics JB. I like the GMC. Not sure on the red Chevy but every one of them looks better than stock, especially mine--haha. I've been thinking about blacking them out like REG CAB 07 but I'm still undecided.

Re: How too clear NNBS GMT900 07-08 Silverado Headlights
the oven "trick" does work. It is the correct PROCEDURE in order to melt the glue in order to remove the lense from the housing. A pencil torch isnt going to do anything. Just because lots of people cut them open doesnt mean it is the correct way of doing it. but hey its your truck cut it up if you want to

Re: How too clear NNBS GMT900 07-08 Silverado Headlights
Do you even have a GMT-900? I can assure you that the oven trick does not work on these lights. It may work just fine and dandy for earlier models but not for these. We are trying to help people and telling them to stick these in an oven will not do that. All it will do is ruin somebody's expensive set of lights.

Re: How too clear NNBS GMT900 07-08 Silverado Headlights
So all you guys are doing is cutting the clear plastics close as possible to the inside black plastics and sealing it back together with an adhesive/sealer?

Re: How too clear NNBS GMT900 07-08 Silverado Headlights
looks great. I also changed my bulbs to sylvania silverstars 3157, they were $10 pair at pep-boys. If your gonna change the bulbs do it now before installing them because its near impossible to reach will on the truck.
you did a great job

yup...leaving just enough lip to glue the top back too.
follow the how too...you can use a good dremel too instead of a cutoff wheel.

Hey Shavedon53s, a few months ago I saw a truck almost identical to yours here in Valencia. The license plate read FKURFCE or something like that. Wouldn't by any chance be you?
