Just do it Zach, it's real easy.
I suggest using a dremel tool with a smaller cutting wheel though.

Re: How too clear NNBS GMT900 07-08 Silverado Headlights
I saw a set done at the SEMA show and it looked like crap... whoever did it, did it in a hurry... they cleared and painted them to match but there was jagged egdes and the silicone was all messy and not smooth... this is what I am afraid of... I want it to look professional if I have it done... not like it was done in a rush by some redneck in the backyard... Ya Know?

Gotcha. Just take your time and you'll be fine.
I'll say it again, use a dremel with a small cutting wheel on it. The cut is much smaller and doesn't melt quite like the air sander setup does.
That and a little silicone and you're all done! Maybe I'll start a business..... send me your lights and I'll clear em for $50! LOL.

If you're sloppy, doesn't mater how careful you are or if you take your time, some people just aren't perfectionists like the rest of us.
I bought a spare headlight on ebay for $30 just to experiment on that one first, I may do a gloss/flat textured black combination on the inside, or just flat textured black, not crazy how the gloss black looks on some of the ones I've seen.
I just need to buy or borrow a dremel, not sure where mine went.

Make sure you post a few photos of the fleabay light when you are done... I will keep my smoked lenses, but I think cleared inside with it painted black will give a completely new look...

Re: How too clear NNBS GMT900 07-08 Silverado Headlights
Mine look perfect. I have done about several sets now. The trick is the sealant. I allways put a small bead in bewteen the cuts, like a sandwich. It has to be small or it runs inside. I let that dry, then put a nice bead around the edge and smooth that. You just have to take your time.
I have had mine done for months and I have no leaks/fogging or anything. Even made it thru Hurricane Ike
I have seen several members that have done theirs and the silicone job doesnt look as good as I would like.
