Re: painting stock grill....
I realize this post is kind of old but if I don't get responses I'll repost it. My gril is not chrome and is just the plastic dark gray color. If I sand it down a little would I be able to paint mine? If so what kind of paint should I get for it? I want to color match it to my black truck...could a can of the spray paint at Auto Zone or Napa do the trick?

Re: painting stock grill....
hopefully someone else chimes in here. you can paint anything that is prepped correctly. sand it, prime it, paint it

Here's a pic
repeat tese steps
sand with 80 grit then 320 then get some bulldog adhesion or other plastic adhesion promoter then prime with 2 coats then paint a few coats and clear

Do you think it will hold up well? I have a few plastic sections on my truck I'd love to paint black like the rest of the truck. I absolutely hate the grey bumper area in the front.

Re: painting stock grill....
Do not use brake fluid! It will permeate the plastic and you'll never get paint to stick to it. Just read the back of a brake fluid can....

Re: painting stock grill....
Do it yourself, its fun! lol but really, if you prep it right and mess with the gun you can have a pretty good turnout and it will last longer and look better.

I say use a pressure washer and get the rest of the vacuumized(sp?) chrome crap off then prep it and shoot it up with black, wetsand then clear.

heres me doing my rear and front bumper...
