i need bigger meats (tire related)

i did search first, but kept coming up empty. maybe i'm looking for something too specific???

i am in the market for some new tires, and am leaning towards the maxis mt-762 305/70-17's, mainly because of price & looks. these will be on '03 z71 wheels (17x7.5). i like the nitto terra grapplers as well, but they just look "fake" to me. sorry, that's the best i can explain it. almost cartoony if you will.

anyways, i was wondering if anyone has heard good/bad about these tires, or if anyone has any other suggestions. please post pics if you have this set-up, or point me in the right direction. i searched a lot of different threads, but couldn't find very many people running this size tire on factory wheels. i currently have 285/75-16's on an obs with 2" crank & 2" blocks. looking for a 34" tire.

i know we've beaten the "will these fit" to death, but my current 285's only measure barely 32". when i bought them i was hoping for 33's. which brands are actually true to size.

thanks in advance!

these are the maxxis tires

Re: maxxis 305/70-17 tires???

I have a set of almost worn out ones in that size in my shed. They last a long time, wear good, and pull great in the mud. They also look good. They are a little heavy but its a big tire.

just curious what you had them on. i'm still up in the air about 305's or 295's for an obs truck.

Re: maxxis 305/70-17 tires???

Are you looking for a tire for a dailly driver that last forever? And rides smooth?

it will be driven on daily, yes. and i would prefer a semi-smooth ride. hell, the tbars are maxxed out at the moment and it rides stiff now. i basically need new tires for 17" wheels so they clear when i do a balljoint flip. and would prefer a little more meat on them over the 285's.
