Re: LED inserts
Here's a totally unrelated question. If anyone know the name of that song in that Eldorado tail light quicktime, please hook me up. I am trying to track down some music such as that. Disco instrumentals...

Edit: It's the song in the link that GMCSMALLBLOCKGUY posted on page 3 of this thread.

Re: LED inserts
Looks like its been almost 1 year since gmsmallblock guy has posted on FSC...

I am going to be solidmodeling up my design this week..
I am a designer and just came across this. I took a few circuit courses. This could be a disaster in the making.

I will be working on my own 04 silverado taillights.
I was going to buy the dual stage 1157 bulbs but I need 6 or so and they are pricey

Re: LED inserts
There is a guy in my Chevelle club that was building some ready to run LED kits for several Chevelles, wagon's and El Camino's for several members. All he needed was a tail light housing for each year to make just one that custom fits each one then he could make them for whom evers Chevelle they want without a housing each time. (He just needs one the first time and thats it.)

He started to check into the legal side of selling them to us and ran into a snag. Seems someone beat him to the punch and already has the patient to making LED taillights "for all DOT approved uses". Or something legal like that. I guess its a guy in CA. and he has the patient locked tight by a pat. lawyer and everything, so there isnt anything our club member could do with out legal problems.

Ill be willing to bet smallblockguy has run into this problem or will when it comes up.

Chris.

Wow now that is an innovative idea. . .they should get 8 legs in there instead of 5, that would really get things going.

Re: LED inserts
First of all, please excuse me if this site has already been posted but I didn't feel like reading thru 10 pages of posts to verify. I have found this site to be quite helpful in all my LED needs http://www.superbrightleds.com/ . Their site is a little odd to browse but to view any of the products in a catagory just click the BUY NOW link .... you don't actually have to buy anything but its the best way to view the products. I've orderd from them 4 times now and never had an issue with their service or product, plus they are a little lighter on the wallet than some of the other options I've seen posted.

Re: LED inserts
At work, I've seen an influx if Chinese made LED lights and lenses for tri-fives and some classic cars and they don't seem to have any patents listed on the package. Prices are starting to come down too. Check out the link.
