I wish I had a housing left. I sold everything when I bought my 2000. Ill measure my NBS lights and send those. Anybody else want to measure an OBS tail and post the size for a curved card (inside of the outer lens). I'll send it to him

That's cool if you want to use that other guy I was just offering because I know I could do it. I really do not reccomend the 10000 mcd LEDs because they are overdriving them and without a heatsink they will die prematurely and loose brightness early. It is much better to use a group of high lumen non overdriven leds. I don't have access to any NBS light housings to make the right sizes. If you could send me pics and measurements I am sure I could make a nice tight fit though. I am going to go ahead and pickup a spare set of tail lights though and order up some leds. I should have something to show within a coupple weeks.

Im just trying to get quotes to see what this will run. If you post something tight alot of us would want them for a fair (profitable for you and affordable for us) price.

If anyone has some NBS or OBS stock lenses not being used I could really use a few extras for testing and sizing. If not I would be starting with OBS lights so I can use em on my truck and then move on to NBS.
I am ordering a coupple thousand red leds right now. :) Hopefully I can get the oem connectors and bypass the whole cheezy circuit card on the OBS trucks. My prototypes will be using simple breadboard&wires. If they work out well I'll order up some good resin boards for the final product for sure.

yes. They can be made to dance, change colors, flash, pretty much anything There is an ambulance around here when the brake lights are applied they flicker five times real fast then light steady. Really gets your attention.

--> check out this link and right click on "LED taillights" and choose "save target as" to download an .mpg of those caddy taillights... the video is ok but doesn't show the full effect http://www.commondriver.com/t01cadevi0606.asp i wish i had time right now to find a better video/pic that shows how the outside vertical strip of (1?) (2?) leds lights up when the driving lights are on. anybody bored and feel like surfin for one? i'll try later too.

Its one strip of lights. on a FSC OBS it would look best, IMO, on the outer most side of the lights. On a side note there is a divider inside of OBS lenses that would need to be removed for the full effect.

This is what im talking about. I have wanted something like this for a while now.
I dont care for those APC style rear lights that look like they came off of a ricer. I would be intrested in something like this if I can afford it. Chris.

ok , i just sent him an email , but i think he is on the west coast , so ill let you know once i hear back from him , heres what i asked him , if you can think of anything else he might need to know , let me know and ill send it over to him
Good morning Ron , i have talked it over with some of the guys on the forum , and i think what were looking for is something that is form fitted to the inside of the tail light lens , there is a divider inside the housing that would need to be cut out , but i dont see that being a problem for us , i guess the best thing would be for us to try and get you a whole tail light to work with and see what you can do with it , and if they turn out well there are alot of people that are interested , we were also wondering about the price , i know you cant give us a flat price right now without know what you will have to do to make it , but we were kindove hoping you could give us a close est. of the cost we would have in these , thank you Ryan ![]() I am not hung like a horse... horses are hung like me.

This sounds cool. I'd be very interested in an insert that we could install in a NBS taillight to upgrade it to all LEDs, but that keeps the whole thing fairly stock looking (no fancy flashers or designs or patterns, fairly conservative looking . . . I know, I'm a boring person
).Keep us posted on this, I take it he's looking into the OBS ones right now but I'd bet there'd be just as much interest here in the NBS ones too. ![]() |

yes he is looking into the OBS first , i figured they would be the easyest to start with , but once i get some more info back from him , im going to ask him about the NBS , ill let ya know ok , he just got back to me and needs a lens and housing , i just sold the extra set i had , so does anybody have one they would be willing to let go for some testing , he is going to need one to get the price and also to show us what it will look like , heres the email from him Would just have to gesso $ since I don't have any idea of the size of LED card required. Send the housing and I will give you a firm price. Will need housing and lens. Lambert Enterprises 39 E. Norris Road Norris, TN 37828 % Ron let me know if you guys have one , thanks ryan ![]() I am not hung like a horse... horses are hung like me.

I am looking into both right now with a little help from Dubyagee I should have a prototype for both with no "fancy flashers" within a few weeks. I am also exploring a few other possibilities to get a simmilar result and effect without the need to cut up the oem housings. The goal here IMHO is to get a permanent or close to it like 100,000 hour life light source that is brighter, fuller, and cooler looking than a plain old incandescent bulbs. I am looking into a few different ways but first will be the simple LED bank or group of a few sepperate banks that would require some cutting. This one would be easily made to create custom patterns etc. For example your regular driving lights could display F S C And have all of them light up for turn signal or brakes or both. Next I have 2 plans for getting the same effect without any cutting. This has really got me going I have about 3,000 assorted LEDs on order to try right now. I am hoping I can use 25 8,000-10,000 mcd 10 degree white leds for each reverse light for a total (on the low side and without overdriving the leds)of about 2,500 lumen! That's brighter than the average Overhead projector!!! For the brake, marker, and turn signals I plan to use lower power red leds but more of them. like 66 6,000 mcd leds for the brake and 33 for the turn/driving lights. Not sure on the specific counts yet but that is the direction I am going. The extra sets of lights and LEDs should arrive within a week. I will get a more accurate estimate once I make some measurements. I still think I can produce them for under $100 a set.
