Closest thing to factory look I've seen so far. May have to get a pair of these. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEVY-SILVERADO-03-06-RED-LED-TAIL-LIGHTS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33713QQihZ015QQi temZ250039875751QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Re: LED inserts
Has anyone checked this place out? They seem to make generic supplies for LED taillights as well as trying to make a piece for the 3000GT. This looked interesting to me yesterday.

Re: LED inserts
I'm working on a replaceable back plate for the OBS and a surgically installed one for the NBS. So far I can stuff about 100-120 LEDs in the NBS without any hot spots. I am also going to install a load resistor on the boards so they are plug and play.

Re: LED inserts
All I have are the boards with a bunch of LEDs on them now. I have two stock OBS tails and two candied NBS tails that I'm working with. I got the LEDs from superbrightled.com. They are three volt so I am running them 4 in series at a time on the board with a 1/4 watt resistor for parking lights. I am researching some sort of spike protection for the bulbs now (any ideas would be great. I was thinking about a cap). A 6ohm 50 watt resistor will be mounted for the "load" so the original flasher will work (still waiting on these).
Specs on the LEDs http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/W18030.htm I tried to mount (epoxy) them directly to the backside of the lens but it was too spotty. 1 1/4" seems like the sweet spot for these bulbs.

Re: LED inserts
I'd like some for my 93 Silverado. I prefer the kind where one can change out individual burned out leds, though. Actually, what I'd LOVE to have are Blue Dot tail lights, if I could only find em.
