Will it work?
While building a steel bumper I painted it with Rustoleum Hammered paint. The K5 is a true beater, and never will be a show truck. I really liked the color and may use it to paint the body. I know I have to sand off the clearcoat that's on there. But will the rustoleum paint adhere to just the current paint that's on the vehicle?

Re: Will it work?
most people will tell you to sandblast it first, it's not a good idea to paint over it.
I think it will adhere though.

Re: Will it work?
yeah, scuff or sand your current paint, then spray. if you sand blast then youll need to etch or epoxy prime with something better than rattle can spray.

Re: Will it work?
Hit it with sandpaper and douse it with a non-residue cleaner to get all the paint dust off. Brake cleaner or something like that.

Re: Will it work?
Yeah I'm leaning towards a custom color combining two different Rustoleum hammered paint. Silver and Black (which looks more grey than black). I guess I'm shooting for a grey/ pewter color. I'll run some test this weekend.
