just got fined for fumes!!!!

i got $2600 fine for painting my truck in my garage.. darn fumes!!!!!! now i really dont have the money to get it painted so im gona do it myself again. but @ night with a lot of floresent light bulbs...my question is can i put a clear coat with no shine over my flat black primer so it looks satin or am i totaly crazy? i realy dnt kno notin about this.. damm fines i guess i gota be more enviormantel friendly

what state are you located? CA? if so then you were screwed when you first thought about it.

they are crazy about their VOC content out there.

thats bull, i made a hold in the wall of my garage with a 2 ft by 2 foot fan blowing outward with a 90 degree turn down into a troth of water. looks jsut like a vent from the outsdie, then agian, im in the mdeel of nowhere out here so i dont worry.

i believe he is in CA. his location is san fernando i think thats a place out here lol. but CA is crazy about everything, not just VOC.

front tint can be no less then 55 percent. only prius' can have any tint they want.

smog you need to have a prius or you will get a ticket

how loud your truck is. if its louder then a prius, you will get a ticket

no street glow, if it looks better then a prius, you will get a ticket

that's funny that prius thing! its true here in ca its like ur in japan all compacts man at times I feel like movin to the east or midwest its hard 2 find baggd trucks. we can't even be on a fone or we get a ticket. every one is blue tooth happy!!! ok well u guys got all into the ca laws n dint help me out on my flat black project. and yes I'm using a hvlp gun..

im not sure about putting clear over primer. but for a flat clear you can get a flattening agent to ad to the clear.

sucks about the fine. if we didnt have a both i would find somewheres out of city limits.

well im gona try it and see what happens... yes california is no place for a man and his truck!!!! no shows or eents here i always have to drive 6 hours to a city called fresno. the closes thing i got.

I wouldn't clear over your primer.I don't know what kind of primer you put down,but most primers are designed to work primarily through mechanical adhesion.Meaning it needs to be sanded in order for a topcoat to properly stick.I really think you'll end up with problems down the road if not during application.
