Re: water based Auto paint

our local supplier sells the matrix aqualution basecoats. they say they sell a little of it & has heard its ok. here in Louisiana it will probly be atleast another 8-10 years before water based paint laws really start coming into play. we currently dont even have to use any special low v.o.c paints... as far as i know of. id like to try it oneday just to check it out, but i want to try to stick with urethanes for as long as i can. i know you have to take more caution with water based paints... alot easier to fug up. and im perdy sure it doesnt smell the same lol.

Re: water based Auto paint

i went to dupont training course for their line of waterbourne paint, Cromax Pro. Its great to use. I didnt like the idea of it before i went to the course but its really nice stuff. Covers in 1 and a half coats no questions asked... blending is really nice with it as well.

Re: water based Auto paint

I use PPG Envirobase all day everyday. I'll be spraying the S10 in my avatar with it when it gets to that point. The colors are a lot richer and fuller than than comparable solvent based paints. I'll admit I didn't like it at first, but I've since come around and couldn't see myself going back to solvent base. It covers in two coats, you gotta use a hand dryer or have a lot of airflow for it to dry though, but it has cut spray times almost in half if not more since we switched.
