Re: Rear View Mirror
I've got a question about the OEM harness in a NBS (01 tahoe). Is there a plug under the overhead console? One of the diagrams makes it look as so but I'd need to pull the headliner out and I'm trying to avoid that if at all possible. I've apparently got a short somewhere up around the mirror and I want to get it tracked down before I burn the truck up.

Re: Rear View Mirror
I have a similar questing to the one above.

I just picked up a auto dimming compass mirror from the j/y yesterday and was wondering if there is a switched power supply under the head liner in the '92 silverado or would I have to get creative with the wiring?

Re: Rear View Mirror
Just put my temp/comp mirror in last night. Was reading temp fine this morning and the compass works well on calibrated. Temp is reading 90-94 degrees and I can assure you that that is way off, it is more like 40 something outside. What should I check?

Re: Rear View Mirror
were did you put the sending unit? it may be reading off if its to close to the motor. i put mine right behind my front bumper light and sometimes if u leave it sit running it will start reading a little bit hot because of the heat from the motor.

Re: Rear View Mirror
Thanks for looking. I did try unplugging and plugging both the mirror and the sensor,no luck. Sometimes it reads correct and sometimes reads really high like 99 degrees. Just wish I knew if it is a bum sensor or the mirror I got off ebay is bad. The compass works perfect.

Re: Rear View Mirror
Any ideas on how to check the sensor or the mirror? I don't want to just throw money at this problem if I do not have to.

Re: Rear View Mirror
The zone map that is in my drivers manual is totally different than this one that is posted above.

http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...ssZone_Map.gif

This one I'm zone 3 and on the one in my owners manual I'm zone 9.

However I'm using a mirror that I bought from a J/Y, any way to know which zone map is right, besides driving onto the airport runway compass rose?
