Re: Rear View Mirror
If you look at the little screen on the from of my morror it currently shows the comass part but if you look real close you can see were the temp would be displayed.

Re: Rear View Mirror
unfortunately, that doesn't mean anything...... The display is the same on mirrors with and without temp. If you have a 16 pin connector, go ahead and hotwire a temp probe to the connections, if you get a temp reading, then you are away.

Re: Rear View Mirror
I am trying to reinstall the stock mirror with only reading lamps. It is a 3 pin plug (4 holes, but only 3 on the mirror) can anyone tell me which wire goes into which hole? My wires are black, white, and blue. Unfortunatly I failed to mark which goes where.
Thank you

Re: Rear View Mirror
I thought the box next to the mirror was the interior temp sensor.

Re: Rear View Mirror
Coop-I wasn't being a smart azz. I was just saying, this site covers everything, from droping a corvette motor in, to finding a suitable mirror replacement. It's amazing that so much info can be under one domain name.

Re: Rear View Mirror
My 06 crew cab has the manual mirror. It also displays the passenger airbag status, so does it already have power to it? If so can I get a mirror w/compass, temp and simply swap it out? Obviously i would have to run the outside temp sensor but that doesnt seem to bad. So can it be done?

Re: Rear View Mirror
Does anybody have the part number for the temp probe? I've done a little looking and I can't find anything.

Re: Rear View Mirror
If your truck is new enough, the harness should be under the headliner for the mirror (check before you buy the mirror, there are a couple different ones), also the connector for the temperature probe should be around the middle of the grill, there may just be a plug on it (keep it clean).

Mine also read "0C" until I plugged in the temperature sensor.

Re: Rear View Mirror
If all your wires are white, I very much doubt that it is factory. Either it's after market or somebody's weekend project. Are the wires white their entire length, or are they spliced at some point?
