Re: 88-94 to 95-98 All Swap Info Compile
Thanks for the info. I did the swap it took about 4 hours start to finish. It was actually pretty easy. I switched over all of the gauges and just spliced in the speed O connector. For the A/C controls I keep the old one and used the lower hole in the dash and it fit pretty good. Now the oly issue it the A/C control opening for the 96 style dash, Do they make a pocket for that opening?
I found a guy here who was parting out a bunch of truck and scored the complete dash, Gauges, Control, and wiring for $100.00 So all in all it was a pretty good deal. Thanks again for the info. Tom |

Hi there, yes and no...a lot of dash mod's required with original dash, as the cluster 'shape' is different to the 88-94'. Best bet is too upgrade to the 95-98 interior. I know this because I've asked the same Q before. 1990 K2500 X-Cab Long Bed 4x4 350ci 700R ![]() ...Stock Standard for now...

Re: 88-94 to 95-98 All Swap Info Compile
ok....couple of questions....
First, I have complete door panels from a '95 GMC Sierra....I am going/try to swap the panels out from my '92 GMC Sierra..What do I need to complete the swap?..as I have read this whole thread.....I have got confusing/conflicting stories What I have understood is just a few pin connectors & match the wires..RIGHT? If I'm wrong let me know. 2nd, I bought '95 bucket seats(driver side is power)...The seats in my '92 gmc are manual... How do I get the power seat to work on the driver side? Any help is appreciated. Re: 88-94 to 95-98 All Swap Info Compile
Hey, now I have a question. I took a cluster out of a 91 5spd. K2500LD and put it in my 88 K1500 Automatic. I swaped the gear indicator over, plugged it in, and it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong or what do I need to fix? I've heard that since they're manual and automatic trucks they won't swap over.
The only things I'm trying to gain is a tach and working odo. |

Re: 88-94 to 95-98 All Swap Info Compile
HELP PLEASE
My swap is almost done, I used a 96 donor to upgrade my 92 K2500. I retained the stock heater a/c controls and rewired and relocated then in the center console. My question is, has anyone done the syeering column? Thats what I have left, It is mounted in the truck, but i am unsure of some of the wiring. Any help please. Thanks, Jason |

Re: 88-94 to 95-98 All Swap Info Compile
yea, I will snap some pics tomorrow. the swap was pretty simple just took alot of patience. I didnt swap the ac controls because my dvd player and cd player take up most of the dash and it wasnt worth the trouble of changing it when its hiddin in the center console anyway. for the column I welded two brackets that I fabbed, was a piece of cake, I could have bolted them on but i have a welder so I went that route. im into it a total of 150. the guy i bought it from totalled his truck and sold me the entire interior for 150 and i had to remove it. the wiring on the column is the most difficult thing i have come across so far, i really need a schematic for it.

Re: 88-94 to 95-98 All Swap Info Compile
ill ship you a huge case of your favorite beer if you can get some of that info up here, sounds like you're one of the few who has gone all the way with the swap minus the A/C stuff, maybe that will have to be my addition to the info here. pics asap, sounds awsome
