Ext cab rear window latch broke
i broke the rear push out window latch on my truck today because I AM DUMB. at around 70mph you can here the wind through that window. so i thought i could adjust it and fix the problem. with out realizing the peice i was going to mess with was plastic i grabbed some pliers and started tweaking it. it didn't take long before it broke. anyways there is my story and i need some help. i searched on here and didn't find anything for this problem. so can anyone help me with websites or even a local junk yard in fort walton beach, florida that will have parts like this. any help would be great. thanks.

Re: Ext cab rear window latch broke
it was the peice that the latch pivots on, the part that is connected to the door. here is a picture of what's broke.

Re: Ext cab rear window latch broke
Yes you can buy just that piece. You might try www.LMCtruck.com or www.Ckresto.com I used to have a GM site that had all that stuff on there pretty cheap but I have since lost it. EDIT: did a little digging and here's the site. http://www.newgmpartsusa.com/

If I remember correctly, that piece is molded into the window frame. That's why I just glued it shut.

Re: Ext cab rear window latch broke
the peice that broke is the peice that is connected to the door not the window. the latch part that looks like a C, clips on and pivots on to the peice that broke. all i need is the peice that connects to the door.

The only thing connected to the door is the frame.

Re: Ext cab rear window latch broke
I went to Chevy and tried to get new latches because Mine are loose, they won't hold the window closed tight and the damn thing rattles over rough roads. The Dealer looked and the latch is a non service item. Meaning you have to buy the whole window frame. So searching junk yards is probably going to be your best bet.

you are correct. when i first broke the frame on the door i, for some reasone, thought it was just a smaller peice that i could un-bolt and change out. WRONG!!! so what i did is JB weld the broken peice back on and then if that works i will do that screw method in the thread that nick posted in the last post to tighten the window.

Re: Ext cab rear window latch broke
Wish I had seen this about a year ago. My glass shattered going down the road one day. So I goes to the junkyard and get another one but it won't seal up tight. So I goes to the local glass/body shop to get the frame replaced. Well, he buggers up the paint on the outside while he replaces the frame. They had to repaint the back of the cab. And all that could have been fixed http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/...ilies/twak.gif
 with 2 screws.
