2000 Silverado Instrument Cluster & Door Panel Help

I've got a 2000 Reg Cab Silverado v6... about a year ago, my the lights for my odometer and PRND123 went out. Since then, they've come back on a time or two, but only for a little bit and then they're gone. It's a real pain, especially with the odometer and getting service done to the truck. I've read it has something to do with a power supply problem; I'm pretty damn good with electronics (I'm an electrical engineering major). Is there any sort of fix with this, or is a new cluster the only way to fix it?

Furthermore, my fuel guage has begun jumping erradically from completely full, to completely empty, to all ranges in between with very little accuracy. I've read on this site that there is a good chance it's the stepper motor; if so, whats the part number or where can I get one? eBay? A GM Dealer? Or does it have something to do with maybe the actual fuel sensor?

And, anyone know a place to get new door panels? My truck came with no power windows or locks, and I have since added them. However, they don't have stock power window buttons and no door lock buttons. Any door panels with these components (no power mirrors) that I could wire up to my existing window buttons / door lock actuator?

Thanks

Did you buy an aftermarket kit to convert your windows, or did you use stock style stuff?

My tech article is for 03 - 06. Don't know if your 2000 is same or different.
Do a search on eBay for "Silverado cluster" and you will see the ones I bought.

Re: 2000 Silverado Instrument Cluster & Door Panel Help

If you have a friend with a 00-02 you may try swapping the cluster just to see if its the cluster. You don't even have to drive, just turn the key and see if it works.
Since your lights are going on/off and the gauge is jumping, it could be a problem with the circuit board.
