2003 Denali - need help with some interior issues!

So while my buddy is on vacation this week, I'm truck-sitting his '03 Denali XL. (Lucky me. :) )

His truck has a few issues that I promised I'd look at for him this week, so I'm turning to you guys for help.

One issue is the tow/haul switch - it doesn't work. Searching on the forums here tells me I need to pull the steering column shrouds, and look for a broken orange wire.

But the other problems I haven't been able to find solutions to on here.

The rear wiper switch (right above the fog light button) does not work, that is, it doesn't operate the rear wiper. I've checked the fuse for the rear wiper, and it's good. The fog light button works. But nothing on the rear wiper switch works.

Have any of you had this same problem? If so... what was the culprit? Any common places I should check?

The last problem has to do with the rear HVAC controls (which I've already posted about) I think I'm supposed to check for another orange illumination wire in there - but if there are any other suggestions I'd appreciate them! Remember the screen itself is illuminated - the buttons are not.
