Re: cabin filters
passenger side of the dash closer to the trans hump. also make sure you get both of the old ones out. if you have the full center console it can sometimes be hard to see the second filter.

Re: cabin filters
Is the door held closed by a single screw? What do the filters look like?

Re: cabin filters
best i can remember when we changed my dad's, yes there is just one screw. the filter are about 6"x8"x1", and kind of resemble the nbs air filters, except they don't have the rubber gasket around the edge. hope this helps.

Re: cabin filters
I just changed both filters. Took 10 mins total.

FYI, Napa and Checker's had filters ranging from $26.99 (FRAM) to $33.99 (WIX).

Went down the street to Carquest. They sold me TWO filters with a charcoal filter for $13.99 each.

Re: cabin filters
Just got two filters for $18 at Advance Auto. First time I've ever changed them and were they ever cruddy. 01 Silverado with 101,000 I could never find them before. I had to take off four screws on the kick plate 7mm and one on the bottom of the filter door I think it was 1/4 SAE. Go figure. Job took an hour and that includes a trip to the parts store. Put the two end screws in first, that pretty much lines it up for the other two. Used a 7mm 1/4" deep socket. The two on the right are easy, the two on the left are a little tight to get to. Air is blowing much better. Thanks to all for the imput.

Re: cabin filters
I can't understand why you guys would have any trouble getting to the screw for the filter(s). On my 2002, its a single screw that holds on a plastic bracket/piece/thing. This is located on the passenger side, under my dash. The single screw is has plenty of distance from my center console (or anything else for that matter) to allow to plenty of access to it. For the most part, it's in the middle of the passenger underdash.

..and yes, my '02 has two filters side-by-side as well.

Re: cabin filters
nevermind man i got it. there were 4 screws holding the plastic cover in place before i could even get to the part that the filters were in( the single screw you were referring to) . took a deep well socket to get to it. i just didnt put it back in so next time i wont have to mess with it
