Re: compleat inside re-do
dont worry your not crazy pulling interior can be a pain. what is probably holding it is metal clips. should pull out. just dont get to crazy with it or you crack it.

yea but when i look up behind it from the left side(next to the fuse pannel) it look liike it is almost rivited in all up inside the dash. im thinking maybe it will be eaiser to just tape the inside off and paint it in the truck?

It can be taken out in less than an hour and you will not get over spray and you will not get any unwanted runs.

Black interior looks awsome on OBS chevys. Did you get seats and carpet that are black?

Re: compleat inside re-do
yea im buying black carpet now, and i ordered mossy oak camo seat covers, and for the roof im going to take everything off(lights over head consol) and pin on a confederate flag then put everything back on and the plasic molding so the flag will be molded to the roof. should look good when done. but you say it can be taken out in less then an hour but how? is there a website or pictures on how to do it? like i said before it seems that its as if the main piece is rivited on but wear i cant reach to drill the rivits out

Re: compleat inside re-do
I say less than an hour if you don't waste time or if you have done it before. All there is to it is taking off the pillars, unhooking the dash lights, the door light switches, the bezel electronics, the ashtray power and then take out the two bolts on the side, the three screws up top, the two for the column and the 4 for the dash brace under the column. Then just tilt it back and lift up with one person on each side and maybe one extra guy to make sure it is coming out nicely.

I have done it so many times that I can do it in about a half hour.

That looks awsome. I can't beleive chevy never made a black interior for OBS trucks. I did find out when I was doing my interior that if you get a blue dash, maybe other colors to, you can strip off the factory paint and it is black underneath.

Just use some paint thinner or laquer. The great thing about taking off the factory paint and getting to the base black color is it will never peel off like painting could. I don't think all the other plastic pieces have a black base, but they may.

yea most of the pieces are black base and i use aceton it wil take it right off. i wiped everything down with aceton the sanded it with 600 then whiped it all down with a rag and it worked really good. after letting it dryed for a day a took my finger nail and tried scratchin the **** out of it and nothin the paint wouldnt chip or rub off so lets just hope it stays like that

All interior peices start out black. All they do is use whats called a "Vinyl Dye" to change the color.

Re: compleat inside re-do
the cup holder was a little tricky but turned out simple. ok there is one big dash piece that runs from under neith the steering wheel to all the way to underneith the cup holder and above the cig lighter.there should be a few screws on the bottom then just clips so it will put right out. once removed you will see 2 screws on the bottom of the cup holder where they were covered by that piece. then the third on is inside the cupholder. first you have to remove the piece that goes around the gauges and radio and stuff(just put the shifter in first and the piece will put right out) then remove the ac vent right abvove the cup holder(put out to, just take a screwdriver and wedge it in the top and wigle it out) then pull the cup holder out like your gunna use it and there is a screw in the back inside it and kinda tricky to get to. but that where they all are. good luck
