OEM (non steering) Buttons for NBS DIC Upgrade
I've been searching for information on the DIC upgrade for NBS trucks not equipped from the factory. I'd like to use the procedure outlined in DZ71's sticky, but I'd like to dash mount OEM momentary switches for a more stock look. I was originally thinking of ordering the steering wheel switches from gmpartsdirect ($24.02), but, since they're setup to be on the wheel, the shapes are odd. I know I've seen OEM dash mounted setups in the NNBS Silverados and Avalanches, are there any others?
From the best I can tell, the NNBS switches are "Collision Catalog - 2007 - Chevrolet/Geo - Silverado 1500 new style Instrument panel, Cluster and switches, Display switch, Display switch - W/o uplevel slt package - W/o uplevel slt package " from the GMpartsdirect.com catalog and only run $13.56. Does anyone have a wiring diagram showing the switch for the NNBS or know if they operate the same as the NBS switch? Last edited by FLGator : 02-18-2008 at 11:11 AM. |

Just in case anyone else thinks to try this, NNBS DIC Switches will not work without rework of the integrated circuit board.

Re: OEM (non steering) Buttons for NBS DIC Upgrade
I was refering to the four Driver Info Center buttons, once I got it, ended up being a completely different set up. If you were willing to completely redo the board, I'm sure you could get it to work.
That's a cool website though, thanks (www.gmupfitter.com).

Re: OEM (non steering) Buttons for NBS DIC Upgrade
For anyone interested in trying:
The diagram for the switch is on page D-62 of http://www.gmupfitter.com/publicat/2...ST_Elec_D3.pdf Three of the buttons just change the output resistence of prong 1 (maint, menu, set), prong 2 is ground, and the info button prong 3 just grounds to prong 5 as a momentary switch, the LED (prong 4) grounds to prong 5. You'd either have to make an external module to translate the resistance change for the BCM interface. Or, wire the circuit board diferently to actually make the momentary switches work and the LEDs light.

Re: OEM (non steering) Buttons for NBS DIC Upgrade
The resistance for the three buttons (prong 1-2) would be close to:
None: 4020 Ohms Maint: 510 Ohms Menu: 1020 Ohms Set: 2020 Ohms Anyone know how you could assemble a module that would act as momentary switches for three circuits (one for each button)?

Re: OEM (non steering) Buttons for NBS DIC Upgrade
that wouldn't be too bad, a simple a/d converter with non encoded outputs.

The Pontiac Grand Prix has a dash mounted DIC, have you looked at it?
